“…I believe that there are sounds we have not heard. I believe that there are colors we have not seen. And I believe that there are feelings yet to be felt." – Jack Whitten
Artist Commune: Ekphrasis brings together the lyrical voices of poets Ajanaé Dawkins and Tyiesha Radford Shorts with the visual imagination of artist Arris’ Cohen for an evening of boundary-dissolving creation. Experience art that speaks and poetry that paints as these artists transform one another's work through the ancient practice of ekphrasis. Join us for a night where visual art inspires poetic response, poetry births new imagery, and the dialogue between art forms reveals colors we've never seen, sounds we've never heard, and feelings yet to be felt.
Free and open to all.
