Pattern Thinking

The latest exhibition at Urban Arts Space was highlighted in an article in the Columbus Dispatch’s Entertainment & Life section. 

The word “pattern” suggests notions of arrangement and repetition.

Patterns can be satisfying and comfortable as well as stimulating and complex.

Such ideas and emotions are likely to surface as one peruses Pattern Thinking, on view downtown at the OSU Urban Arts Space.

The exhibit of some 50 pieces pairs Australian Aboriginal art with pattern-inspired pieces created by three American artists. All the works employ the structure of pattern enhanced by symbols and themes that relate to the natural world and humans’ place within it.
