Urban Arts Space is excited to share that our inaugural Community Artist-in-Residence, Arris' Cohen, and our Manager of Community Learning and Experience, Dr. Terron Banner, will be exhibiting in an upcoming show at the Ohio State Faculty Club, with Arris' as curator. Their work will be featured alongside pieces from Queen Brooks, Richard Duarte Brown, Tiffany Lawson, Ike Newsum, Aminah Robinson, April Sunami, and Pheoris West. Read the full press release below!

The Ohio State University Faculty Club is pleased to announce A Seat at the Table, a group exhibition curated by Arris’ Cohen. This will be the first group show at the Faculty Club Art Gallery exclusively featuring the work of Black artists. An opening reception will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 6–8:30 pm. The evening will feature a dynamic panel discussion that delves into themes of representation, equity, and empowerment. Together, let’s explore what it means to have a seat at the table. The exhibit will be on view from January 6 through March 6, 2025.
A Seat at the Table is an invitational exhibit in honor of Black History Month, showcasing original paintings and assemblages by an amazing group of professional Black artists, celebrating their stories, voices, and perspectives.

The viewer will appreciate a suite of 35+ artworks by professional artists whose roots extend deep into Columbus’s African American arts community.
Some of the works of deceased artists Aminah Robinson and Pheoris West are from the permanent collection of the Frank W. Hale Jr. Black Cultural Center.
Established in 1923, The Ohio State University Faculty Club is located at 181 South Oval Drive on the Columbus campus of the university.
All exhibitions are free and open to the public and are on view during the Club’s regular business hours, M–F, 9 am–5 pm, or by appointment.
