Kate Ortiz works as a general intern at UAS. As an art historian, Kate is invested in a multitude of media, genres, and periods. Her recent research has been invested in colonial-era Latin American and Pacific Island art, as well as French Impressionism. Kate is a large proponent of meditation and dedicates free time to practicing yoga. She is also passionate about engaging in all kinds of music genres and periods.
Kate often refers back to the value of living in the moment, memorizing the feeling of days as they come, no matter how challenging or rewarding. Her favorite band, Paramore, summarizes this in a lyric: “A picture could not contain the way it feels.”
